    Will I notice much difference between an i5 7300hq and the i7 7700hq in gaming and Photoshop?

    I down to two laptops to choose from, one has the i5 and a 1060 the other i7 and 1050ti.

    For gaming - the i5 + 1060 will perform better (by about 40%). For heavily multi-threaded workloads, the i7 will be about 30% faster than the i5.

    In anything CPU intensive, usually, the i7 results in the computer feeling responsive if you're trying to do something else. I found that out when crunching numbers on my XPS, the performance was alright, but I had stuttering while trying to browse the web and the CPU was busy. This behavior did not happen with an i7 in case this important and you have heavy workloads. It is still possible to get a less responsive system with an i7, but it is much more difficult to run into those situations in my experience.
