    Anyone know of one?
I work as a computer tech and for the first time today I was faced with an issue - a laptop with a 1.8" SSD may have a failed SSD.

Normally for testing hard drives I have a variety of tools, but I'm not sure if any of them will work on an SSD since they're for conventional mechanical hard drives. Anyone have any suggestions? Commercial or free, but free is preferred.

All of the tools used in that review look like they're run from inside Windows and measure performance. I'm looking for a tool that will scan the media for faults, check the controller for faults, etc. Also needs to be a standalone app like memtest, Seagate SeaTools, WD Lifeguard, Gateway GWScan, etc.

    Thank you though.
