Ok, my brother bought a Dell inspiron e1505 a year and a half ago. It's still working fine, just one thing. He originally bought it with 1GB ram, but now it's not enough to keep up with all the software he has.
So, he asked me if it's possible to upgrade the RAM. So I'm turning to you guys, is the ram upgradeable? And what brand or whatever would be the best (hoping to make it 3 or 4 GB RAM)?

    Thanks a lot.

K-Tron has an E1505, and has always said that it does not support more than 2GB RAM, due to a BIOS limitation, etc. -- http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=295191

Anyway, your notebook will not recognise the full 4GB, irrespective of the OS. So, if you have a spare 2GB module with you, you can try out 3GB, but not sure if it'll work.

OGloc, I own an E1505, and I have tried upgrading beyond 2GB. Its a no go. The maximum the Bios supports is 2 x 1GB of Pc5300 memory.
If you install a single 2Gb card, the system will not boot. The same applies with a 2 Gb and 1Gb config, and a 2 x 2Gb configuration.
I have tried running 4Gb in my E1505, and it just doesnt work.

The bios of the E1505 limits the memory to 2Gb.

    Thanks all.

@K-Tron: So the only option is to install two 1GB sticks?
