    Hi,

I'm looking into the Lenovo Thinkpad T470 and it has upgradable DDR4-2133 SODIMM option on their website.

From what I read about DDR4 memory, it should be able to to have higher frequency.. 2400, 2666 and beyond.

Would it work if I put a different frequency DDR4 RAM into the laptop?

It will work, it may not run at that frequency though, depending on the laptop hardware, it may default back to a lower frequency than its max rated frequency because some piece of hardware isn't supporting that higher freq, but that just means that it will run at the max frequency your system is capable of.

I wouldn't upgrade RAM to go to a higher frequency SODIMM, but if you're upgrading for quantity and happen to grab higher clocked RAM, then go for it, it will still work (barring a few extremely rare and weird cases).
