No, this isn't the usual "should I buy or wait" question. I know there are new Intel CPU's coming early 2010, and maybe other new things too.

My question is: Will the specs below be significantly outdone by Q2 2010? Because I could simply get a lower spec'ed notebook for now and just sell it later to buy the latest upgrades when they are available.

I understand there will always be upgrades, but I think a bad time to make a purchase is near the end of a technology that is going to be replaced by a MUCH better one very soon.

Really depends on what you are using the notebook for. If you do CPU intensive work, I would wait for the new processors. If you are going to play new games, I'd wait for a 256-bit GDDR3 or 128-bit GDDR5 card w/ lower manufacturing process.... etc.

Screw that, wait till 2011 when intel has its 22nm process ready or 2012 when prices on those 22nm parts are mainstream.

    1. No. Will still be the same in 2010.
    2. Yes. The new processors will have hyper-threading and Turbo Boost. Clock speeds flat out won't pass a T9900, but other cpu enhancements will help.
    3. No. Might be cheaper.
    4. Yes. Direct X11 cards are very close
    5. No. In Q1 of 2010 Intel will introduce more models to it's 2nd gen ssd lineup. These won't be replaced until Q3/Q4 of 2010.
    6. No. Will still be the same in 2010.
    7. Yes. These are the new cards: Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250, Ultimate-N 6300, Advanced-N 6200 or Wireless-N 1000.
    8. Yes. Bluetooth 3.0 launch is very close.

I say wait, the new Arrandale processors will be launched at CES in the 2nd week of January. Not that far away. You know you want this :D:
