I posted this thread two weeks ago regarding my soaked power adapters and it seems my luck has finally run out regarding the speaker power brick. I'm not eligible for warranty so I'm making arrangements to purchase a new power brick from somewhere if repairs (possible or not) don't work out.

I've looked at the official Creative webpage but they don't have OEM retailers of speakers and their spare parts. Anyone have any ideas where I can get spare power bricks?

What is the voltage and current rating and what does the plug look like?

There are various universal PSUs with a selection of plugs.

China 2-pin, I think it outputs 16V. At any rate my landlord has been very understanding due to my recent flood so he's taken my power brick and one speaker off someplace to see what the problem is exactly. If he says I'm shafted with this power brick I'll be able to give more details on the PSU.

Landlord returned my brick yesterday, it's definitely the soaking since they had to open a hole to let out some of the trapped steam which managed to short out one of the internal circuits preventing power from passing through.

    Input: 100-240V 50/60Hz 1.5A
    Output: 12.6V 3500mA 44.1VA

I have no idea whether universal PSUs come in all shapes, sizes and configurations so could really use some advice here on where to get one independent of the speakers.

This has almost the right (12V) output and the right current rating. I doubt if the speakers would notice the difference between 12V and 12.6V. If one of the plugs doesn't fit then it would be necessary to cut the plug + some lead off the old PSU and splice it onto the new one (getting the polarity right).

Now the challenge is to find that PSU in your part of the world. Do you have any big electronics components stores / etailers?

Thanks for the link, my landlord actually passed me a temporary transformer plug for the speakers and they work now (although I can hear a static hum when I use this transformer compared to the original brick) so this search is precautionary in case this temporary plug fails me.

There isn't the equivalent of a Dixon's in this country although I could try one of the Best Buy outlets in the City. Thanks for the help though.
