    Core 2 Duo vs Core Duo

    Who is faster from these processors CORE 2 DUO T5600 (1.83GHz) and CORE DUO T2500 (2.0GHz)

    The T2500 should be slightly faster but it won't run 64-bit Windows Vista (or 64-bit Linux). I'd take the T5600 if I had to pick between the two.

    Yea, definately go for the T5600. The speed difference won't be that big of a difference.

    The T5600 is also cheaper, I think, so it is the better choice.

    Yeah go for the T5600, its is 64-bit and about 5-10% more powerful than the original T2400.

    Its worth it. Although the T2400 or T2500 are no slouch.

    I'll chime in and add a vote for the T5600. Like others have already noted the speed diffrence is almost noexistent to the naked eye and power consumption with both processors is very, very close.
