I do not see a reason why not. At the time that laptop was made, 2GB was about the max you could find in stores...thus the specs.

However, there may be a BIOS limitation which could cause your laptop not to boot with 4GB installed. And there is another chipset limitation that will limit you to about 3.5GB of that 4GB.

My advice is to try 4GB and see. It will probably work and you'll get 3.5GB-ish.

Don't see why not, the Mobile 945 NAPA chipset supported 4GB ram.

On that note, if you are running Vista 32 bit, you will only access 3.5GB as it's operating system limitation. However with x64, you get access all 4GBs.

Please do not get Vista 64 with that core duo. It will not work as 2350 is not 64bit CPU.

    Excellent observation!

ziad123, the only thing I'm worried is the BIOS limitation. The latest BIOS for the V6000 is from November 2007, I think you should try that BIOS for installing more than 2 GB of RAM.

The battery problem is under a special HP service enhancment warrenty for free repair. Call them up let them know your problem and tell them about the service enhancment and they will fix it for free. And yes it will support 4gb's of ram just update to the latest bios.
