The external hard drive that I use as backup seems to have stopped working, so I was thinking of getting a new setup with RAID mirroring for safety.

I wanted to get the Buffalo Linkstation Duo but I really want the drives to be 2.5" instead of 3.5" so if the hard drive in my laptop fails I'll just swap in one of the ones from the external enclosure, and secondly I don't know if it is possible to clone a drive onto a NAS.

Another thought I had was that I could get one of those hard drive cloners:
    Sandberg Hard Disk Cloner
I then buy 2 2.5" drives (let's call them drive A and B), clone the primary into A and then clone A into B.

    Any ideas?
