    Change fan behavior?

    I recently got an Asus gaming laptop and it works great. I was wondering however, if there were any programs that would allow me to change the behavior of the fan (when it should kick in and to what intensity etc) so I don't have to worry about it dying on me in the future.

    As long as you can know the EC registers, you can control the fans.
    E.g. for Acer Aspire One , there's aa1fancontrol, a1ctl
    For eeepc, there's eeectl
