    I'm sure you've seen the heavy advertising that INTC is doing on all networks re: Centrino Core Duo. They're subtle, no hint of "Blue men" and in line with the reality that this (Core Duo) will only be here until Q3 or early Q4 or until I buy my Centrino Duo...

    From what I've read, the mitigating factor is that the CDuo is "unplug-then-plug-and-play" with Merom and (Vista?) with a BIOS zap, the old has been originating mobo/945GM/Core duo combo become a full-fledged EM64T (ah yes..that'd be 64-bit) system.

    So there we are.

    I dont quite get the second half of your post. Are you saying the Core Duo can become 64 bit ready?

    yes, that's what I mean. (I guess I should have said that the new line of ASUS with Centrino Core Duo have an INTC path, directly, for upgrading to Merom...may have been too (fill in the blank) to most ASUS buyers of the "f" or "j" models.
