    Hi,

my old Notebook CPU gives up. I've bought a new one for replace the old one. But I have a Problem with unlocking the CPU from the Socket to get it off. There are some arrows on the socket but I didn't understand how to do. I'd took a pic of the relevant parts. Please take a look and tell me how to get it.

    Here's the pic:

When you say your cpu has given up, what do you mean?
Is it just not powerful enough, or is the system not working anymore?

the cpu is removable. Their are two small tabs on the plastic socket, with arrown pointingtoward the cpu. You need to get a small flathead screwdrive and stick it in their. Than gently pry the cpu out. Do so gently, and slowly. You will have to do this from one side, to the other, and back and forth. You need to do this, or else you can bend all of the pins on the cpu.

Are you upgrading to a pentium 3 processor?

No, I replace it with the same CPU. The old one doesn't work anymore.
