Hey, my laptop is a Toshiba a205 s4617, i found that its Sata, and i want to change the drive to Scorpio 320 GB, 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive with 2.5in. diameter,SATA and i read its Sata300.

My question is (i dont know what Sata is the computer), is there a problem if its sata150 and i put 300, or i dont get all the benefits, do you think its a Sata150 my pc?

SATA-300 is backwards compatible to SATA-150. Your notebook is not SATA-300 compliant, but it should run SATA-300 HDDs in SATA-150 mode just fine.

And there will be no performance/feature difference between SATA-150 and SATA-300 in relation to the Scorpio Black HDD.

You can also checkout the Seagate 7200.3, which probably comes with a jumper setting to force-enable SATA-150.

their will be no noticeable performance difference because no notebook mechanical harddrive can max out the SATA -150 interface.

... So it's only the few MB of data which are in the buffer which benefit from the faster interface.

And SATA-300 uses a bit more power.
