I have a T42 with a bad screen, and a T60 with a good screen. Can I put the hard drive from the T42 into the T60 and use it?

T42 takes IDE hard drives. T60 takes SATA hard drives. You cannot put a hard drive from a T42 in a T60.

If you're just looking to get the data off the T42, there's always an external case or you could get a modular caddy to use the drive in place of the optical drive.

Yes, or just a very inexpensive (2.50) cable should suffice. Cases are only necessary if you're going to be carrying it around.

It sounds like the OP doesn't a drive for the t60 and is not wanting to spend very much :p
