I'm looking to buy the HP Envy 15t-j100 quad edition ( HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC with Windows 7 (ENERGY STAR) | HP® Official Store), however it seems to come with a crappy wireless card. Does anyone know if I can replace it with a better one preferably the Intel 7260 ( Amazon.com: Intel Network 7260.HMWG WiFi Wireless-AC 7260 H/T Dual Band 2x2 AC+Bluetooth HMC: Computers & Accessories The reason I'm having doubts is that the HP cites the wireless card as "802.11b/g/n WLAN [1x1]" and the 7260 is a 2x2. Does anyone know if its still possible?

HP whitelists WLAN cards, if you don't buy an HP branded wireless card from the correct generation, your laptop will refuse to boot. If it has an option for a higher end wireless card, you need to buy that HP part number. It doesn't look like that variant offers anything else.

On page 6 of the manual ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04091768.pdf), it states it can use the 7260. What you said doesn't mean I have to buy it from HP right? Basically, I will be able to use the 7260 listed on Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00DMCVKMU/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new) in the laptop right? Thanks

No you need to buy a hp branded 7260... Otherwise it won't work.. To do this either buy directly from Hp or look on ebay...
