Yeah, newb question but I wanted to know pretty quickly.

And if I can't, is there a point to buying 5.1 speakers if I read that the v2000z is 2 channels? Does that mean its only for 2.1 or 2.0?

No, you can not. However, you can buy an external sound card that will allow you to use 5.1 speakers perfectly. Most attach through USB or PCMCIA.

No, they aren't very bulky at all. It your notebook has a PCMCIA slot you can get the Audigy 2 ZS, which just sticks out of your PCMCIA slot a little bit. If it doesn't you'll have to go with an external USB one; which aren't too bulky either. The Audigy 2 NX that I have is very small. I got mine off of ebay for $50 refurbished from Creative, it normally goes for around $100 new. If you're willing to look for a deal they aren't too expensive, and they are definitely worth it.
