Can somebody tell me if the CQ50 will work with a t7100? I read in the manual that the t7350 is supported. It came with a Celeron 575. Thanks!

What is the exact model of your system?
There are AMD and Intel CQ50's
    Do you have a CQ50-130US?

If it has a celeron 575m, than your system uses socket P Intel processors.
Your system should be able to run any socket P santa rosa processor.
That means, any of these should work:

    Core 2 Duo T5250
    Core 2 Duo T5450
    Core 2 Duo T5550
    Core 2 Duo T5750
    Core 2 Duo T5850
    Core 2 Duo T5270
    Core 2 Duo T5470
    Core 2 Duo T5800
    Core 2 Duo T5870
    Core 2 Duo T5900
    Core 2 Duo T7100
    Core 2 Duo T7250
    Core 2 Duo T7300
    Core 2 Duo T7500
    Core 2 Duo T7700
    Core 2 Duo T7800
    Core 2 Duo T8100
    Core 2 Duo T8300
    Core 2 Duo T9300
    Core 2 Duo T9500

The model is cqr50-210br and it come with a celeron 575 2ghz. I live in brazil and i have one t7100. So i'm thinking in buy that one and change the cpu later. And can you tell me if the t7100 is faster than a t3xxx or t5xxx?

The T7100 is much faster than the stock celeron. Thats for sure.
The T5xxx series usually have lower clock speed and less cache than the T7xxx chips.
The T3xxx usually do not have virtualization technology, and have low cache.
The T7xxx will be faster than a similar clocked T5xxx and T3xxx cpu.

The processors are only soldered in on ultraportables, which use low voltage CPU's.
The manufacturer will tell you that the processor is not upgradeable because they do not want the user taking it apart.
The CQ50 does have a removable and upgradeable processor.

    I'm back again!
In the HP's site, they tell that is only supported up to 3gb max.
If I change to 64bit OS can I put 4gb?

The Celeron M550 is also socket P, so you should have no problem upgrading to the T7100.
If you have 2 x 1Gb of memory, you shouldn't need to worry about the 3Gb memory limit, cause 2Gb is less than that ;)
Your system should support 4Gb of memory without any problem. You will have to install a 64 bit operating system to read all 4Gb of memory. A 32 bit operating system will only read about 3-3.5Gb of memory.

And about the FSB? The T7100 is 800mhz and I read that cq50 only supports 667mhz...
And should i change the ram to 800mhz ones?

Your system can support the 800MHz FSB.
You do not need to use 800Mhz memory. The chipset in that laptop can only recognize a maximum of 667Mhz anyways. Stick with PC5300 memory

Good to hear, you can monitor your cpu temperatures with software like coretemp, and hardware monitor.

If you want, you can try undervolting your processor. This will make your processor run cooler without sacrificing any performance. Flipfire made a great guide, The Undervolting Guide.

I saw the temps and they are about 55-58ºC the cores. I think i will activate the speedstep. I was working with a HP ze2315 with a Sempron and 512MB plenty of viruses... Try to imagine my hapiness now!!! hehehehe

It's funny... i cant get any higher temps... they stay at 55 and 58... even on the stress test... the fan stay all-time on and when in full charge it speed up...

and i read the tutorial... i tought that undervolting was the same thing as underclocking... i'm testing my system... i could go already to 1v from 1.1750 and thats cool!

the cpu temps fell 1ºC and the acpi temps fell 10ºC at full load. the fan speed and noise decrease a lot!

just to share the info... the scores that i got in windows was:

    processor T7100: 4.8
    RAM 667mhz 1.5gb (4gb coming): 4.5
    Aero: 3.3
    3D 4500m: 3.4
    HD: 5.4

    not bad!
I think when the 4gb ram arrived the score will increase a little bit.

i was thinking.. can i overclock the cpu, undervolting too, to get higher performance with normal temps? there are any risks of damage?
