I got a Compaq Presario CQ45 laptop with 5 years warranty. Its got a Intel P8600 processor in it. I was thinking to upgrade to T9400 or X9000.

Will the warranty void if upgraded the CPU.
Where to buy P9500 or above CPU

    Thanks

CPU is not a user upgradable part. Whether or not it will void warranty is debatable, there are no seals that needs to be broken in order to upgrade the CPU, therefore if you put back the original CPU before making a warranty claim, you can get away with it. But if you damage something while trying to replace the CPU then most probably it will void.

Why do you want to upgrade the CPU ? Upgrading from a P8600 is not really a worthy investment right now. Because newer high end CPUs are very expensive and the performance gain is very little.
