    Hi all,
I have a toshiba satellite A215-s5837. It currently has a X64 mobile 2.0 AMD proc. I'm looking to see if it's worth upgrading or if I can even upgrade the proc? Thanks for any help that you can provide.

To be honest I don't think it's really worth trying to upgrade the processor as the AMD Turion's in that generation is quite poor compared to the Intel equivalent. You probably would have a noticeable difference in speed if you invested in a SSD instead.

But in end it boils down to what you're trying to achieve, if you want to improve on gaming or video editing for instance then certainly you would be better off investing a newer system altogether as a 6 year old AMD Turion system is quite long in the tooth these days. If you want to use it for basic office work and internet browsing then the SSD is a much better bet than the processor upgrade.

Yeah, I have to agree with the above; it's not really worth it, and you'd be better off just getting a newer system.

Don't waste your money with an SSD, or any other upgrades. If money is tight and you need better performance, be on the lookout for a good deal on a used laptop.
