What's the minimum CPU you need to play 1080p Blu Ray video with no stuttering/desync/etc?

    CPU: Core2duo 2GHZ, Athlon X2 2.2GHZ

    RAM: 2 GB

    Graphics: Nvidia 8600GT
or any other Nvidia/ATI card supporting HDCP

It's more then just the CPU, that controls whether or not Blu-ray will play. You need 1024x 720p minimal Display and
an HD audio chipset, that will work with HD audio aka The
    "Azalia" Standard

A friend down the street bought a $399 notebook from Walmart, and it played Blu-ray video. He asked me to bring over, my USB BD/DVD-RW player, to see how it worked on his, since he wants to get one..
    He has a gateway, with I think a Core2solo, 2GB of RAM and a x4500
video, on HDMI it played fine(on his 27" HDTV) but the notebook was hot in temp. I suggested he get a CRYO NZXT noteboook cooler...
