    Hello,
Excuse the English faults I will probably do,please.
I have found a thread about this subject but it is closed and it isn't giving me the solution.

I have bought a tablet pc tecra M7 S7331 (occasion) and at startup (before the windows xp logo screen) I get this message: "CD-ROM Error".
The CD-rom drive makes some noise but does not work.

Do anyone know how I could solve this?

you could try a bios update.
Also a firmware update for the CD-ROM drive.

If that doesn't solve the problem I guess you would have to buy a new drive and replace the broken one.

Also you could replace the cd-rom with a SSD.

Edit: sorry I gave the wrong link, fixed now.

Thank you Moral Hazard! you rock!
Is it risk-free to make a bios and a firmware update?

it is very safe, maybe not 100% risk free.
I have done it many times.
Especially now that it can be done in windows just by running an exe file.

Just make sure you are on AC power and don't stop the update once it has started, let it finish.

Cool,I will try that a little bit later.

I have one more (ans last question) about apoint.exe but maybe I should start another thread about it.

    Anyway,thanks again for your help.
