I'm ready to purchase a Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD for my new Alienware, but so much progression is happening in the SSD market, I want to know if its the right decision. I wanted to have an SSD before I got the Alienware to make it the ultimate laptop, but if I must wait, I guess I will.

Is there going to be a substantial change in the speed or cost of SSD's in the next few months? Should I wait it out, rather than spending the 560 dollars on the SSD now?

I doubt it. Prices per GB have actually been fairly stable for the last year. Sure tech has gotten better, but not so much you'll see enormous gains. I'm on my 4th SSD in 12 months, they are great.

With the huge growth in tablet and smartphone markets I would not be surprised if nand flash prices actually increase in the next year

I would suggest waiting for the Intel 520 "Cherryville". If it uses a new Intel Controller it might change the entire SSD2 market.

I was looking to purchase myself, but after hearing about the new Intel SSD's I think it would be best to wait.
