    I just got my laptop to finally boot after i finished installing all the new parts.. i am now trying to install windows for the first time, but i am getting the black screen of death.. Anyone had this problem before?? what should i do??

    What version of Windows are you installing, and what laptop are you installing it on?

    im installing xp media center and im using a clevo 900k/alienware m7700

    you can do a quick MemTest86+ (burn the bootable CD, let it autoboot to search for errors)

    if errors are found, you should remove that particular stick of RAM

    if no errors are found, then I would recommend to remove all of the optional modules (wifi card & tv tuner), then try to install again.
