So I purchased an Intel X25-M G2 80GB SSD and I would like to properly prep this drive for use. Can you guys tell me what I need to do to make sure my SSD is configured and setup properly for use in my system?

I hear a lot about TRIM and other stuff that helps promote the longevity and operational life of an SSD, and I want to make sure that I do this. The last thing I want is to brick or ruin my new SSD because I didn't do something I was supposed to do.

    Thanks!

Do a clean install of Windows 7 and install Intel Rapid Storage driver.

Use Intel's toolbox to verify that you're running the latest firmware.

The Intel Rapid Storage driver, 32 or 64 bit depending on your OS.

Er, unzip the zip and run the executable that uncompresses.

Manual install: go to device manager, IDE/ATAPI controller, and manually update the driver.
