I'm running Windows XP Pro and am able to establish the connection between my laptop and the headset, but there is a bit of distortion. I've figured out the problem, but don't know how to fix it. When I highlight my headset in Bluetooth Places, it says I can connect via a "stereo-headset" or "hands free unit". If I connect only via the stereo headset, there is no distortion, but as soon as I connect via hands free unit, the sound is distorted. I tried this with 3 different bluetooth headsets and got the same result each time.

Here's the problem: the default connection is via hands free unit and the only way I have been able to connect via stereo headset is to manually connect, which is of course a pain. Is there any way to change the default connection to stereo-headset, or to even delete the hands free unit way of connecting so that it will only connect via stereo headset?
