    Hey,

I just posted a thread last week and Coriolis was so kind to answer me.... Thanks man!!! I appreciate it!!!

He told me that I can't upgrade my mobility radeon 9000....sniff sniff :'( ..... but I dealt with it over the weekend but I really want to play Splinter Cell on my Laptop but it doesn't run smoothly. Since I can't upgrade the GPU I can upgrade my RAM to 1 Gig and I WILL!!!

But I have 3 more questions:

    1) What does a Bios Update do?? What is it good for?? Is it recommanded to do it or rather not??

    2) What is overclocking the GPU?? Is it good to do or not??

    3) How can I give my mobility radeon 9000 more ram (it has 64mb built-in but I want to give it more shared memory so that the game might run smoothly) Is that possible?? And if, how???

I have no clue about that stuff so please help!!! :)
Thanks so much for all the advice!!!

    1. a bios update is released by the manufacturer to improve communication between devices in your machine or fix problems that have been discovered. it's highly recommended and will probably make your rig more efficient.

    2. overclocking the GPU tricks it into running faster than it currently does. it results in improved performance at the cost of increased heat meaning you can potentially damage your GPU beyond repair.

    3. unless you have the ability with the included vid card software, then you can't

you can also upgrade your HD to a faster RPM, but that will only result in slight overall performance and faster load times; up to you to determine if the benefit is worthy of the cost.
