    Evening everyone!
    What would be the fastest and reasonably priced ram you would get for your laptop? Im considering HyperX Impact 3200 CL20 or if I can find GSkill Ripjaws 3200 CL18.
    Would Crucial ballistix 3200 CL16 work? It states 1.35v where as the others state 1.2v?

    The laptop in question would be a Tongfang GK7CP6R/XMG Core 17.

    Honestly unless your laptop uses XMP I'd buy the cheapest stuff you can get from a tier 1 vendor like Micron (Crucial), Hynix or Samsung. Used prices are unbelievably good right now and there's no excuse unless you're worried about the 'rona to not buy from ebay or the like. I can only think of a handful of laptops that allow for non JEDEC timings/speed/voltage which makes buying stuff like Ballistix a complete waste of money.

    EDIT: Looks like there are unlocked BIOS that would allow for XMP for this laptop but only you can decide whether that's worth risking.

    Ha, no not worried about that for second hand items.
    I presumed the bios did have XMP settings as they offer different RAM speeds at additional cost but the 3200 speed was CL22 which I didn't think was that great. Plus it was an extra €205. The ballistix are £155 delivered. Then I could sell the single stick that it comes with the laptop.
    I haven't bought the laptop yet, was just trying to weigh up the pros and cons.
