    Hello.

I'm trying to find out which one is the best BlueRay Burner. So far I found 2 Drives: LG BT30N and Panasonic UJ260.

They seem to be quite similar, but there have to be some differences.

(the LG BD30N can play 3D (but can it burn 3D?), the Panasonic UJ260 can write 3D (in that case it shoud be capable of playing 3D aswell?).

I'm a bit confused, hope you can help me make a decision.

The difference is the price. My Panasonic was cheaper so that's what I got. Never got into 3D, but is shouldn't matter.

What's with the 3D capabilities of both Drives? (I'm having a hard time to find out which one is the best). LG is also capable (at lest to read) M-DISC™, found so far no information about it on Panasonic, just for the external USB version....
For which one woud you go and why?

I already told you which one I prefer. There is no functional difference between the two except that the LG is more expensive. I have the Panasonic and continue to live happily ever after. In fact, I have two.

Ooops, it looks like the ASUS N550JK comes with a 9.5mm ODD, in that case none of the mentioned BD-Drives woud fit. So far I just found 2 Drives: Panasonic UJ262 and UJ 272 - If I'm not mistaken than the UJ 272 is the newer-better one. Does someone have some infos about 9.5 BDXL Writers?

For the third time, the Panasonic blu-ray XL is of slim (9.5mm) design. I have both the 9.5mm, and the 12mm in external cases.

To my knowledge there are no 9.5 tray loading blu-ray XL drives. The door to my slot loading drive would not match up with the connection point of the disc drive and the disc when ejected, would collide with the OEM face plate -- it did not come with one of its own. Since nobody made the slot loading BR XL, I used the slot for an extra HDD instead and went with external cases.

The ones you probably spoke about ( LG BT30N and Panasonic UJ260) are 12.7 mm, there are just two 9.5 mm Drives I found so far which can handle BR XL (Quad Layer) - one is Tray Loading the other Slot Loading - you did't mention the Name of any of those two so which one do you mean?
