I have a Everex XT5000T notebook and need to fit in 2nd HDD (160GB only and under $110) as it can take 2nd HDD.
I have shortlisted these four HDD and out of these Hitachi seems to have not so good reviews lately and is dying after few months of use.So out of rest 3 which HDD will be the best for me.

My NB accecpts sata 1.5gn/sec HDD,so will sata3.0 will be fine for me?

Are these above mentioned HDD vista compatible?

Well this is a rather fun question.

    1. SATA 3.0 is backwards compatible with SATA 150, and the transfer rates are no where near the maximum for 150..with a SATA 2.5 drive you would be lucky to get 70 Mbs/sec.

    2. Seagate has a 3 year warranty, and I have the momentus it is 5400 RPM, but it is plenty fast for my needs. I also have the 7k200 with the 16 mb cache / 160 gig drive from hitachi, and it is much quicker with a much higher sustained transfer rate. That being said not all 5400 rpm drives are created a like I have seen the momentus outperform some 7200 rpm drives.

    3. All of them are Vista compatible drives.
