    Hey guys,

I was thinking of getting this MSI GX600 Barebone Combo from Ewiz.com. (Scroll down to the bottom)

    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=NB-163A121

    Barebone MSI includes:

    Geforce 8600GT Mobile (512Mb Memory)
    6-Cell Battery

    Included in the combo:

    T9300 CPU
    250Gb HDD
    2Gb DDR2 667 Memory
    Vista Ultimate (32 bit Version)

    Price= $1079

How hard is it to install a CPU onto a Laptop MB? This is probably the cheapest way I can get a gaming laptop without forking $1500 for it.

Why not the MSI MS-1651 barebone instead?

9600M GT GDDR3 MXM socket, any montevina processor (P7350 (2.00ghz 25w)- X9100(3.06ghz 44w), quads are not tested but probably won't work), Ram + HDD is your choice. Supports DDR2 - 800 pc2-6400 ram

I actually just got it yesterday, and you can find some pictures of it here:

I could find any combo deals for that GX620. Besides, I don't know that the 9600GT is that much better then the 8600GT.

    Thanks though

Bought a Gateway m6862 at BestBuy today for 525.00 before tax. Google that and check out its specs. From the brief research I've done the graphics card in there is comparable to GeForce 8600's and up. 4gigs of RAM, 250gb HD, core 2 duo 2.0ghz.
525.00 is a steal and at your budget you could get two.

There is a 30%-50% performance gap between these two.

Barebones make no sense will cost you more once you buy the components than if you let them build. But good luck.

I'd have to disagree with you here. Is there a company that doesn't overcharge on specific parts? (name please :p)

I have to disagree? Instead of posting consider pricing? Not a joke, when I priced cheaper for components? From OEM?
