I know it's not uncommon for laptops to run hot, but my W2V is super hot when doing almost anything. I'm looking to buy one of those fan cooling units, besides the cheap one that that Acer? makes and sells at Staples, does anyone have any other thoughts as to different models?

What do they call these, not docking stations but notebook expanders?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, try to undervolt your laptop, theres no reason for it to heat up to a super hot state.

    Micklelow double posting?

Anyhoo', it shouldn't be running SUPER hot, but since your notebook is made of brushed aluminum it will feel hotter than other notebooks made of plastic, since the aluminum palmrest will heat up more than plastic palmrests.

Of course we have no idea how HOT, hot is to you, but try running your system in lower performance modes unless you are gaming.

Check your CPU temperature under full load with tools like Notebook Hardware Control or SpeedFan and if it is going past 75 degrees, send your baby in for repairs.

    Cheers,
    Mike
