I'm thinking of buying an Asus FS3A-A1 and the specs say it comes with "1GB DDR-2 667Mhz Memory (Expandable to 4GB) w/ 1GB Turbo Memory"

Now I haven't bought a noteook in 8 years, so at first I thought this was 2gb of memory, 1gb of DDR-2 667Mhz Memory plus (w/) 1GB Turbo Memory, but apparently it's only 1gb total.

Can someone please explain, and if I want to increase to 3gb, will I have to get turbo memory only and is it more expensive?
    Thanks!

Turbo memory is more like your HDD than your RAM, but it is SS like an SSD so RA is like 1ms not 15ms of HDD. It does not get a big thumbs up by most people and many say rather useless if you have enough RAM. The Asus you are looking at comes w/ 1GB RAM as a single DIMM, the cost for Corsair 1GB is about $35 for 2GB stick $55. I would not pay extra for turbo memory but since included can't hurt.
