    Are Western Digital or Seagate external (or internal) hard drive warranties valid worldwide ?

    Ie. if I buy the drive in country X; can I get warranty service in a different country ?

    it depends... but usually its regional.. i bought a my book home edition with asian warranty but when my power plug died , WD sent a replacement for free.. I don't see any problems..
