Can anyone who upgraded their own RAM for their dv4000 please reccomend me a good quality buy (decently priced)?

I don't wanna order anything that may not work so if anyone has upgraded with a certain RAM that has worked well, please let me know. Thanks.

SO-DIMM 200 pin DDR2 533 is what you need. Anything with a lifetime warranty should be fine: The Kingston you linked in the other article is popular, and so is the Transcend available at NewEgg.

It's cake, too. Both chips are under the panel on the bottom of the machine: No more taking the keyboard off to upgrade the RAM!

Before you place the order, you better check your dv4000 with CPU-Z or NHC to see if you have the later revision. The earlier release of dv4000 uses DDR not DDR2. I got mine 1 month ago and it is using DDR2. I got the Transcend one with Samsung Chip (now ~$60 after rebate for 1GB) and it works great. It is actually a bit faster than the Kingston one. (4-4-4-11 vs 4-4-4-12). You may go here to see more info about upgrading RAM in DV4000.

He just got it with the x700, so he's got the DDR2 that you and I do.
