    Hi there
I've got Alienware Area-51 m9750 with T5500 (C2D 1.6GHz) processor. It works only with Socket PBGA479, PPGA478 and 667MHz System Bus, but if i change it for T3400 (dual-core) or T2500 (Core Duo) will it work Compare Intel® Products ?

T3400 will not work (socket P), Core Duo will work (socket M). The fastest Core 2 Duo for socket M is the T7600 @ 2.33 GHz. Best bets are T7200 (2.0 GHz) or T7400 (2.16 GHz) without giving up an arm or leg.

Those processors are a little bit over my budget so i'll go for T2500. Is there anything better than T2500 (i mean core duo processors) which will work with Alienware?
Basically T2600 and T2700 will work with that laptop-am i right?

    Thanks

The best option, in my opinion is the T7200.

    Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0 GHz CPU 4 MB 667 SL9SF | eBay

The T2500 and the T5600 are basically the same.

    In Passmark:

    T2500: 937
    T5600: 1008

But, the T7200 is $45 and scores 1147. You can sell your old T5600 for around $23 shipped on eBay

Ok. Thanks for replys. I gonna use Alienware just for test and will sell it later on. Basically i used Dell XPS M1730 myself and that's enough for a while.
    Cheers

No a T9300 is socket P. The BEST socket M CPU is the T7600 (s version if you can even find it). socket M also only supports 533/667 FSB Core 2 Duo chips.
