    Hi all
I know this has been posted alot already, but I've read through so many threads and other sources and am just at a dead end.
I would like to upgrade the AUO FHD panel in my 17 R4. I understand that I will have to swap out the display cable as well.
Can anybody PLEASE recommend a 17.3 UHD glossy or matte decent panel that would be compatible with the 17 R4?
    Thanks VERY MUCH in advance!!

these are compatible with my 51m r1 (144hz 1080p gsync), not sure about your 17 r4.
top 2 are the best displays avaliable, though theyre near impossible to purchase atm. 3rd one looks decent, though no ones uploaded the datasheet

    @ SonVolt

If you go grab HWINFO it will give you the exact model you have. From there we can get the sizing of the panel to provide all of the option that will fit.

Here is a screenshot from HWINFO for a similar laptop. I have also been looking at simply purchasing a 1440p display assembly from ebay, will the cables from these assemblies be compatible with my motherboard? These displays are approximately $200 after shipping, I can't find pricing on any of the panels in the link you shared, but I don't expect them to be significantly cheaper.

i think theres 3 main things to check for compatibility:
    - pin size of the cable (30 or 40). someone can confirm if your r4 is 40 pin, but my 51 r1 is 40 pin
    - size - specifically depth. mainly applies to thin laptops
    - cable position - right middle or left

Thanks. What do you think about my pricing comment? How much did your upgraded panel cost for your a51m?

ive not purchased a panel yet, since i cant find any seller. though i would pay around 150 to 200, depending on the panel.
