I am setting up a video podcast where I will be delivering instructions and I need my viewers to be able to see my hand gestures clearly and a whiteboard that will be drawn on.

What minimum specs can my system have to deliver 720p (lesser resolution might be okay) and decent audio to my viewers. I will be about 4 to 5 feet from the camera.

For desktop option, I was thinking this:
    i7-2600
    8GB RAM
Or is there something from the previous generation Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad that would be sufficient?

For laptop option, I really have no idea what minimum specs I would need, please advise.

I am open to buying used/refurbished and/or piecing together parts with my own labor.

I want to stay as cheap as possible. I have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, an old usb webcam, windows 7 and wire cast license. Need everything else.

    Thanks in advance.

A Core 2 Duo would suffice.
