I've never really found much use for having 2 DVD/CD drives. What do you guys use 2 drives for? What are some of the reasons why getting 2 drives is a good move?

Not as much swap-age when you want to play more than one game. Burn two things at once. Watch 2 movies at once.

Same advantage as having 2 over 1 of anything.

You can copy discs without having to move files over the your hard disk first.

So having 2 doesn't really give you the ability to do anything you can't do with one (other than doing 2 "drive jobs" at same time obviously). Right?

I'm just wondering if there is a common use for 2 drives that I'm not aware of. Maybe for people more experienced with computers than I am.

No. Two drives do not combine into one "Super-Drive".

    Go Go Power Rangers.

    lol lithus.

The only thing that you can kinda do is play a video game and listen to music at the same time, but most people have their music on some program.

I have two blu ray durners in my voodoo laptop, and its pretty awesome. Installation of multi dvd or cd software bundles takes half the time. You can game and rip a cd, I usually use both of them at the same time for ripping music cds, and burning cd's, dvd's and blu-rays.

It is definitely awesome owning the only laptop chassis with 2 cd drive bays.
The other day in architecture studio we had to burn two dvd copies of our work. So in Nero, I burned 2 dvd's at 16x speed and finished in less than half of the time as the other students who were struggling with roxio and their 4x dvd burners in their lenovo laptops. Silly lenovo t61's are for kids.

Damn, I can understand a desktop having more than one CD/DVD drive but a laptop? I understand you having a desktop replacement, but having that stock built-in is overkill. It's like just talking about how big your e-pen0r is.
