    Hello,
I have a Dell Lattitude D630 with one GB memory. I want to add to either 2 or 4 GB. Do I need to install in pairs, I have not physically looked, but see photos of one memory slot on boack...IE bottom of laptop and a 2nd slot under the keyboard, that is supposed to be hard to get to. I assume for 4 and perhps even 2 GB I will also have to remove the keyboard hinge. any input is most appreciated.
    Thanks Stephen

D630 can have a maximum of 8GB (2x4GB) (source : user manual), therefore you shouldn’t have any problems upgrading to 4GB. However, you should know that there is a memory limitation in Windows 32bit operating systems, where the maximum addressable size is restricted to around 3.2GB. Nevertheless, I recommend you upgrade to 4GB instead of 2. To utilize 4GB and above you need a Windows 64bit edition. You can find some instructions on how to remove the hinge cover, keyboard etc.. in the service manual.

EDIT : here is a comprehensive guide with photos on how to upgrade both memory modules in a D630.
