IDK were I should put this, mods feel free to move if its in the wrong spot...

I have an oooold gateway nx850xl/m680 that uses a ati x700 MXM video card. I know the laptop was offered with a nvidia 6800, and later models came with 7600/7800/7900 cards. The problem is, I have this super duper fast 8600m that 'should' work, but it doesn't.

The laptop powers on, fans come on, lights come on, but no video or POST codes. It will not boot into windows(no log-on sound).

Can anyone help me? or give me a bios moding 101 course?

FYI, the stock bios is available here...
