I have a friend who is legally blind, and for whom I often take notes at meetings. Usually I use two legal pads, so she can read from one while I write on the other. Occasionally I dragged an old computer out of the church closet and set it up with the keyboard in front of me and the monitor in front of her. Then, if I enlarge the fonts, she can read the notes as the meeting moves along.

Now I have a Sony Vaio laptop. Is it possible to add a keyboard to it, so that I can put the keyboard in front of me and the laptop in front of her, where she can read the large letters? If so, it would be SO much easier than either the yellow pads or a whole computer setup to keep her involved in the meeting.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

well yes, you could add a keyboard. Simply plug it in to the PS/2 on the Vaio laptop or into the USB port. If your friend is sitting quite a way away from you, you might want to get a wireless keyboard.

Yes you should be able to do this very easily. If you plan on buying and external keyboard it will probably be USB which is basically plug and play.

adding a keyboard should be quite easy, just find one you would like to use, plug it in and go for most keyboards out there,

if you run into any problems or have trouble setting it up please add any questions to the thread.
