    Acer Aspire 2010 RAM HELP

    Hi there i am looking at getting 2gb of ram for my laptop! but there is only 1 slot 4 the ram!! the maximum ram my laptop accepts is 2gb as read on the manufactorers website! were would the other slot be for the ram???? under the laptop there is only i ram slot, but on the manufactioring website it does say that there is 2 slots and a maximum of 2gb of ram can be used!??? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE THANKS

    you sure you arent talking about the memory slot face plate(they plastic with a screw)

    the only place i could find ram in my laptop is undernearth in a plastic face plate! there is a 256mb ram in there at the moment wen i take it out and run my laptop the ram goes down 2 256mb when it was 512mb!! when i put the 256mb of ram back in and run m laptop it goes bak 2 512mb and so forth.....


    so the problem i am having is i can only see 1 ram slot, were else could it be there has 2 be another 1 with 256mb of ram in it!! were could it be please help me out guyz cheers

    you properly have another one under the Keyboard. That would mean you need to take Your Acer apart to get to it.

    I have an emachines and had to do the same thing to get 1Gig in there

    Power off, remove battery.
    there is a screw accessable from the bottom of your laptop that hold the nameplate/ power/quick keys plate on. (It's the centre 1) remove plate.
    Locate the 2 screws that hold your keypad down and remove the keypad.
    2nd ram slot is located under keypad
