Hallo everyone i'm a newbie and i got an acer 6920g, it always worked great and i usually remove dust and change thermal paste also keepin it not throttling with throttlestop.
Now i was thinking to sell it or upgrading, and i would like to ask you guys if is worth making an upgrade and keeping it for my son, i read a lot of threads about upgrading this notebook here but since all are from 2012 i wanna ask which are the component to buy.
    Thanks,
here my specs and what i was thinking to replace:
    Chipset PM965
    Intel core 2duo T8300 (t9300 or T9500?)
    4gb (2x2gb) DDR2 SDram 667 MHz (2x4gb?)
    Nvidia Geforce 9500M GS 512MB GDDR2 G84 (Nvidia 9600M GT 512MB GDDR3 or
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 1GB MXM II?)
WD Scopio Blue 320 Gb, 5400 RPM 8 Mb (WD Scorpio Black da 720 Gb, 7200 RPM 16 Mb cache or sdd?)

The GPU built into modern mid to high-end Intel processors is better than the two replacement GPUs you mentioned. And the 8-yr-old P-7811fx in my sig is an upgrade to that Acer, even AFTER you've make your upgrades. Take the money you'd have spent on the upgrades, add a few euros more, and get a decent laptop for the kid. :)
