Hello everyone.. The X550V's ethernet connector is strange - it has a flap that comes down to reveal the connector hole. Anyway, if I pull ever so slightly on the cable after the RJ45 has clicked it, the connector disconnects. There is like a 3 mm play.. If I push it in, it works, if I pull the laptop closer for example, it moves out slightly and it disconnects!

    Any ideas how to remedy?

Welcome to NBR, I am not too sure how old the laptop is but you may need to take it back. Before doing so be sure it is not the cable connector. Not all cables are 100% equal, so try a few out first just to be sure.
