    I hope this is where this thread goes...... OK first of all, is the 8800 GTS overclockable? secondly, if so, what is the best FREE tool for doing it? i'm doing this on a 6860FX

    It's overclockable yes...

    Use ntuner. Be careful not to clock it too high!

    ntune 6.03 ftw dont bother with the rest.
    my clocks: 600/850/1500
    original clocks 500/799/1250

    if you do oc,monitor you gpu temps at all times,
    keep hwmonitor in the background while gaming.

    since the op never oc his gpu b4 (maybe) i reckon ntune will be much easier on him.
