Ok, so i bought an Elitebook 8530w with 2 gigs of RAM to save money. Now I want to buy the next 2gigs and install it myself. This is the type of RAM that came installed, 2048MB (800-MHz, DDR2, 1DIMM).

    1. Are all of these on the Newegg page compatible with what I need, are any brands better than the others?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...309121116 1309221140&name=DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

    2. Then when I do get the RAM on hand, how do I install it, just unscrew the cover over the RAM slots and plop it in? Is it that easy? Anything I should watch out for?

Actually your system has a maximum memory capacity of 8Gb.
Your laptop has two memory slots, so each can be occupied by up to a 4Gb memory card.

You can either buy another 2Gb memory card to give you 4Gb of memory,
or you can buy a 4Gb memory card to give you 6Gb of memory

If your going to buy another 2Gb card, I recommend buying this one:

If you want to put a 4Gb card in the empty slot, this one would be best:

I do not think you will need more than 4Gb, so I think your best off buying a second 2Gb card. The price of a single 4Gb card is very expensive, which is a turnoff to almost everyone.
