My m570ru has two 2gb 667 RAM, and I was considering if it was worth upgrading to 800mhz. I did a quick search in this forum, and I read that apparently all laptops downgrade from 800mhz to 667mhz even if you get the 800 anyways? I just want to clarify if this would also be the case with the 570ru so I can save a bit more money this coming holiday. Thanks.

That's very likely (that it will downclock since only not yet released, I believe, MBs will support 800mhz RAM), I also found that the increased speed also comes with higher latencies and that difference virtually negates all benefit gained from the increased speed. So save your money, it's not worth bothering to upgrade.

No Santa Rosa laptop (including MBPs) will support 800MHz. It will downclock to 667MHz.

My Vostro 1400 was billed as 800Mhz, but my system info lists it as 667Mhz, and the same with any benchmark program.

Thats 800MHz FSB for the CPU not the RAM, the RAM is still only 667MHz.
