    would the computer performance of an Asus S69S with 64 bit vista and 4 gb of ram be better than an asus C90S with 2gb and xp pro?

    Come on! You are mixing OS and Hardware! Apples and Oranges, 1st compare w/same OS then results might help. On your question tell us more about what you are looking for and why you pick these two systems?

    no, the 8600 GS is not nearly as powerful as the 8600 GT, and 2gb of RAM won't make up that difference. That is strictly talking about games, though...maybe for other things, which are more RAM intensive, it might change.

    c90 is one of the highest performance laptops available, there are a few that beat it in the gpu department and only 1 I think with a better cpu, but most of them are huge boxes not slim line models like the c90 and also much more expensive.

    64-bit plus 4 gigs ram would be better imho.
