    4700 vs 4800 processor

    Is it worth the big jump? Im looking into a gaming laptop and i want it to run DayZ and from what i heard DayZ is heavy on the processor so will the extra .3 to start help out alot?? I cant decide on which to get going to be with a solid state drive and a 780m gpu msi laptop

    How much more is it?

    For a ~9% to a ~12.5% performance improvement (along with more support for VM usage) I would say it is worth it... when you consider that this is a one time cost spread out over the expected lifetime of the system (usually around 4 years).

    And you get to enjoy that performance increase (equivalent to a 'normal' generational bump from a new platform) from 'now'.


    For myself; even $300 would be an acceptable 'jump' in price (for work use).

    Yes! What tiller says. I'm opting for the 4800 over the 4700. I used to just get the lowest end quad and for the most part more than adequate. But the increase in CPU speed is actually more noticeable and useful than I thought. Plus like going from my i7-3610QM to i7-3740QM it actually runs COOLER while running FASTER. /scratches head/
