i've been wondering if this is really possible coz all that i've read so far say that dual channel works with paired modules with matching speed and size...

i have a 2+1GB setup, but sis sandra, cpu-z, and everest reports that i have dual channel enabled..!

is this possible or my system is reporting it wrong..? TIA folks

Yeah... that's a desktop board. It's just explaining the concept of how flex mode works. With a PM965 chipset you DEFINITELY have support for asynchronous dual channel modes.

Sorry, I meant to say asymmetric. Please just read the link I posted and understand that the same exact theory is being applied to your computer even though you have a laptop and the link is about desktops. You have a mobile version of the chipset.

It says symmetric because CPU-Z is not perfect, but two GB ARE running in symmetric mode.

No problem, everyone has to learn and that starts somewhere.
